I’ve always thought that kid’s drawings is animation heaven. I had to try it out.
I started with creating a simple rig of rectangular grids, onto which I textured a loop of different hand drawn crayon lines.
My approach to the animation was to animate quickly and without planning too much. (That came easily as I’m not really an animator.) I then tweaked some serious things, like the pirate-like limp which resulted after my first attempt.
Then I threw Paul into a sound booth and made him make silly sounds. (He’s also an accomplished Barney voice artist

Mr Painter,
Inspiring crayon-work. You must have been one scribbler on the walls, when you grew up!
