<description>November 2011 - Luma is known for creating beautiful realistic creatures, but Underline Advertising asked us to go one step further for the new DSTV HD tv spot, showing how HDTV can blur the line between a displayed image and reality.

To execute the brief within the time and budget we needed to create something that cannot be shot or otherwise realized - a realistic bee as our protagonist performing perfectly on cue in a perfectly believable environment - all in CGI.

Here is some juicy behind the scenes material and the credit list. We have included our storyboards, animatic, compositing breakdown, 3D wire frame of the bee as well as a beautiful colour render!
Enjoy!

<description>August 2011: DraftFCB, Michael Meyersfeld and Luma joined forces to create a new take on sex education for Vodacom's adult content management system. Using photography and CGI, the Birds+Bees campaign was born. In fact, it is creating such a stir, it has already won BestAds for print and has now been nominated for a Loerie award!

These executions build on Luma's growing potrtfolio of cutting edge 3D illustration work for print.

June 2011 - Luma was briefed by M&#38;CSaatchi Abel to create an ad that would make the new Samsung Galaxy Ace feel familiar and accessible to viewers and to emphasize its functions and power in an entertaining way.

The campaign incorporated a three phase release approach, including two sets of print advertising releases (a teaser and the reveal), culminating in the commercials. Central to the campaign was the Andriod robot that interacted with the Samsung Galaxy Ace, which ensured a seamless continuity across all the media and helped to focus the attention on the creative execution.
